You’ve spent the better half of the morning in Long Beach sunbathing, and now you’ve worked up an appetite. Luckily, you have options, both on the boardwalk and further inland.
For a quick bite near the beach, you can head over to the Shoregasboard, a food truck market located just off the boardwalk. There, you can grab a seat at a picnic table and choose from local favorites beachside in their food-wagon form. Options include stacked sandwiches from Lido Kosher Deli, slow-cooked barbecue from Swingbelly’s, or healthy fruit bowl options from NY Acai. This broad selection is especially ideal while traveling with friends or family.
For sit-down dining with stellar views of the beach and New American fare, head to Atlantica at Allegria Hotel. It’s one of the only restaurants on the boardwalk and every seat has a view of the Atlantic. Order fresh seafood options from the lunch menu, including sushi rolls, locally harvested oysters, crabcakes and more.
Thinking of leaving the beach scene for a bit? There’s plenty to choose from on Park Avenue.
For an oversized slice of pizza or a soup and salad panini combo, head to Gino’s, a Long Beach staple since 1962. The buffalo chicken pizza is a definite favorite, and you can always split toppings if you’re sharing a pie with someone.
Another lunchtime favorite in Long Beach is The Bungalow, with locations on E. Park Avenue and W. Beech Street. The casual, funky eatery has a wildly extensive menu. We recommend the Tex-Mex-inspired fare: tacos, burritos, and quesadillas are all bursting with flavor.
If you’re looking to escape the sun, duck into the cool interior of Ra-Kang, a Thai restaurant on W. Beech Street. Bold, fresh flavors offer a change of typical burger pub fare, and lunch specials of pad thai and curry plates are fairly priced.
Summer is just around the corner, and it’s the busiest season in Long Beach. Book ahead at Allegria Hotel to get a spot right on the beach, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. See special offers, only available on our website.
