Kick-Off the Holiday Season in the City by the Sea

As temperatures begin to drop and fall outfits emerge from the wardrobes, everyone knows one thing: the holidays are coming. Long Beach, NY, might be better known as a summer destination, but did you know that winter and fall are perfect times to visit as well? The ocean is as beautiful as ever and celebrating the holidays with the Atlantic Ocean as a background is something that some only dream of. But guests of the Allegria Hotel know this to be true.

Once leaves start changing, The Allegria begins to prep its annual Thanksgiving Dinner, open to all. This tradition has become a Long Beach staple, what with the Atlantica restaurant’s reputation, the high-end cuisine served every day and the views unique to the Allegria – the only hotel located on Long Beach’s boardwalk.

Take a break from cooking and washing up over the holidays! Join us this November 23 for a sophisticated, yet traditional three-course Thanksgiving dinner. Consult this year’s menu here. There will be a choice of salads, entrees and desserts. Given our in-demand location and cozy ambiance, reservations are required to ensure you don’t miss out. Call 516-992-3730 to book your table – large groups are more than welcome.

If you’re thinking of hunting for Black Friday sales in the area, the Allegria is just a short-drive from Roosevelt Field Mall and a quick train ride from Manhattan – read on our guide to shopping around Long Beach.

But Long Beach, NY, has more to offer over Thanksgiving than meets the eye. The Long Beach City Council Turkey Trot will take place this year on Sunday, November 19. Run 10K (adults) or 1 mile (ages 17 and under), starting and finishing on New York Avenue and the boardwalk – just a couple of blocks from the Allegria Hotel. Indulge in your Thanksgiving dinner with no guilt and make sure you stay fit over the winter months. Make sure you sign up before November 17 – registration fee is $25 until then and registration on race day is $30.

Last but not least, the week after Thanksgiving is big in Long Beach: the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Friday, December 1st at Kennedy Plaza, starting at 5:00pm. This family-oriented event will be the perfect start to the 2017 Christmas season – and the Allegria is getting something special ready for you. Stay tuned!
