Getting Around Long Beach

Headed to Long Beach but not sure how you’ll get around? Here’s a look at stress-free options to enjoying the beach, downtown, and the West End.

On foot

Long Beach is a small community, and getting around on foot isn’t difficult. If you’re staying at Allegria Hotel, the beach is in your backyard, and the shops of Park Avenue aren’t far away. Remember to pack comfortable shoes any time of year and stay hydrated in the summertime!

Bikes are not only fun to use cruising up and down the boardwalk, but they make the West End of Long Beach just a quick ride away. West Beech Street is specifically popular for its restaurants, pubs and nightlife, where you can find Minnesota’s, The Bungalow West, Speakeasy, and more.

Social Bicycles is an awesome way to get around Long Beach. The bike share program offers users access to bikes located at hubs and other areas around town. Fares do apply, and the SoBi app allows you to see exactly where bikes are for pickup.

Ride Services

Parking in Long Beach has its challenges, so instead of renting a car we suggest you opt for ride services such as Lyft or Uber. This way you can also enjoy nightlife and count on a safe ride home at night.

Long Beach Bus

If you need a lift to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), the Long Beach Bus offers service 24 hours a day, and also provides access around town. The bus operates five different routes, which offer rides to the West End, Point Lookout, and more. Take a look at the schedule and check current fares here.

The Allegria Hotel is extremely well-connected. Here’s a look at how to get there from JFK Airport, Penn Station, LaGuardia and more. Check out our specials and book your stay.
